Medical Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition and physical fitness are the keys to health, happiness, and longevity. We live in an environment today that by no means supports positive lifestyle changes. Chronic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease place significant physical and mental burdens on those who are afflicted by these chronic conditions. Nutrition and physical activity should be cornerstones in the management of many diseases and conditions. Minnesota Sport & Wellness Nutrition, LLC offers nutrition education and interventions for some of the following conditions:

  • Obesity
  • Diabetes
  • Cancer
  • IBS
  • Cardiovascular diseases (high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, etc)
  • Celiac disease
  • Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis
  • Other chronic diseases

Each person presents a unique set of challenges, and while there are certain  recommendations that apply to everyone, he respects that everyone will respond differently to lifestyle changes. In addition, he believes in a scientifically-based
approach to improving health and sport performance. No gimmicks, no unnecessary supplements, and no empty promises.

Patrick has been involved in a wide variety of athletics from a young age, participating and excelling in basketball, cross country, and track. He has also competed in long distance running races, including several half-marathons. His understanding of exercise physiology and nutrition, along with his practical experience in athletics, provides him with the unique background to help any athlete maximize performance through their diet.

What is a Registered Dietitian (RD) and why should I seek one?
In today's health industry, there exists a plethora of self-proclaimed health gurus, nutritionists, and holistic practitioners. While these individuals have clearly established themselves from a marketing perspective, they often do not have the education to back up their claims and promises.

When you work with an RD, however, you are GUARANTEED the following:
  • Baccalaureate or postgraduate degree from an accredited university
  • No less than 900 hours of preprofessional practice experience
  • Successful completion of the registration examination for dietitians
Be aware, almost anyone can call themselves a nutritionist with very little education, training, or expertise. While often times they help you get short-term results through extreme practices, the safety and long-term sustainability of their advice should be questioned. Do yourself a favor and seek the services of The Nutrition Experts, Registered Dietitians.
